Cuckoo sings to 1.1million viewers

Setting a BBC Three record

Cuckoo has become BBC Three's biggest overnight comedy hit.

An average of 1.15million viewers tuned in to the 10pm slot last night – breaking the record for the first episode of a comedy set by Jack Whitehall's Bad Education only last month.

Cuckoo stars Andy Samberg as an American hippie who unexpectedly marries into a British family – to the dismay of his new wife's parents, played by Greg Davies and Helen Baxendale.

Last month, Bad Education debuted with 830,000 viewers – narrowly beating the previous record-holder: Horne And Corden.
