David Tennant has signed up to host a Channel 4 comedy panel show.

The seven-part series, called Comedy World Cup, will see teams of comedians using their stand-up skills to avoid being knocked out of the contest.

The show will go out on Saturday night – but no other details were revealed by channel boss Jay Hunt, who announced the commission at the Edinburgh International TV Festival today.
