Celebs to team up for Sky comedy

New series from Sam Bain

Peep Show co-writer Sam Bain is working on a new comedy series for Sky in which unlikely celebrity couples - the real ones - would appear in sketches together.

According to trade magazine Broadcast, Sky head of comedy Lucy Lumsden is said to be ‘on the brink’ of ordering a pilot episode of the show, provisionally called Strange Pairs.

Bain and writing partner Jesse Armstrong are currently working on a pilot for Channel 4’s Funny Fortnight season next month called Bad Sugar, which will star Olivia Colman, Sharon Horgan and Julia Davis.

And a second series of the pair’s Fresh Meat returns to C4 in the autumn.
