Cooper coup

C4 to screen unseen Tommy footage

Previously unseen footage of Tommy Cooper is to be screened in a new Channel 4 documentary.

The Untold Tommy Cooper will feature archive material from his manager Miff Ferrie.

Mat Steiner, from producers Gogglebox, told trade magazine Broadcast: ‘The discovery of this archive offers up new insights into Cooper’s fascinating 35-year relationship with his manager.’

The 90-minute film – to air later this year – also features interviews with some of those who tried to save Cooper’s life the night he collapsed and died on stage at Her Majesty's Theatre in April 1984.
