12 stitches for 'drunk' act

A comedian’s face was slashed open after an audience member hit him with a beer bottle after his set in a New York club.

Police said the 23-year-old was injured after he began arguing with a female punter after performing at the Dark Horse bar in Manhattan, the Tribecca Trib reports.

Witnesses reportedly told police that the woman, who was in her early 20s, hurled a full bottle of beer at the comic’s face, breaking his cheekbone and opening a large cut beneath his right eye. He was taken to hospital, where he received 12 stitches.

Police withheld the comedian’s name, but said he was drunk at the time of the altercation.
