Eclair poised to enter celebrity jungle

Tour dates pulled

Jenny Éclair is set to enter the I’m A Celebrity jungle amid fears ‘nutritionist’ Gillian McKeith is about to quit.

The comic has been flown from London to Brisbane to sit on the ‘reserve bench’ after controversial diet advisor McKeith struggled with the experience. She appeared to faint during a Bushtucker trial, has refused to eat crocodile genitalia and has annoyed fellow contestants by shrieking every time she saw a bug.

Éclair, 50, told reporters she was among eight potential replacement celebrities. Trigger Happy TV’s Dom Joly is also poised to enter the jungle.

Jenny said: ‘One moment I was in my bath in Camberwell, the next I was at Heathrow. I'm on the reserve bench.

‘I think there are eight of us. I hope I'm fourth on the list because I have a horrible feeling I could lose it in minutes. I don't like spiders and snakes.’

Éclair has pulled a raft of her live tour dates to go on the show. She was due to play Inverness Ironworks tonight and Aberdeen Music Hall tomorrow.

A spokesman said: ;Jenny apologises profusely to all her followers and ticket holders who will be were planning to see her. She has never cancelled a live show before in over 20 years of performing and hopes her fans appreciate these are very exceptional, unexpected circumstances and looks forward to seeing everyone again very soon.’

The dates will be rescheduled for the spring.
