Comic Stephen Upsall dies

Promoter of Tunbridge Wells club was 40

Amateur comedian Stephen Upsall has died at the age of 40 after a short battle with Burkitt's lymphoma.

He ran the Therapy Room comedy club in his home town of Tunbridge Wells and was a regular compere there. He also had a long association with the town’s Trinity Theatre, as an amateur performer as well as managing their publicity.

Upsall, who leaves two children and a partner, had only been diagnosed with the cancer in July.

He died on Saturday and his funeral takes place at 2pm on September 20 at St Augustine's Catholic Church in Tunbridge Wells.
