David Mitchell has been mugged near his London home.

A thug grabbed cash, his credit cards and mobile phone as he returned home from a night out in the early hours of Sunday.

The Peep Show star, who lives in Kilburn, north London, revealed his ordeal on Twitter a few minutes after it happened at about 3.45am

He Tweeted: 'I've just been mugged. And I'm fine thanks. I was just shocked and now annoyed to have no cash, cards or phone. But it could have been a lot worse.'  

He attended the Bafta awards and after party later that same night.

Scotland Yard said no weapon was seen to be used in the attack, and no arrests have been made.
