Russell Howard's very good news

Two more series commissioned

BBC Three has ordered a third series of Russell Howard’s Good News before the second has even aired.

The first run as the best performing studio-based entertainment show BBC Three has ever launched, with a total audience across all its repeats of 2.5million a week. It was also the most requested BBC Three programme on BBC iPlayer last year with, on average, 220,000 weekly requests.

The topical show returns next month, with a third series planned for later this year.

Howard said: ‘I just want to say thanks to everyone who watched the show and I can't wait to start working on the next series.’

BBC entertainment executive Karl Warner added: ‘His first series was a huge hit with BBC Three's young audience and we're delighted he's returning to the channel with not one, but two, more runs.’
