Vote Peter Griffin

Ulster politician is Family Guy's doppelganger

A Northern Ireland councillor is planning to his resemblance to Family Guy character Peter Griffin to help get re-elected.

Ross Hussey plans to use images of the bungling cartoon dad in his campaign posters – even though he says he can see ‘no resemblance’ to the animated oaf.

The Co Tyrone Ulster Unionist said he was not flattered by the comparison, but said the claims did amuse him.

He told the BBC: ‘I have watched it and we would have certain similar traits - that's all I'm prepared to admit to. To be perfectly honest, I didn't know who this Peter Griffin was until my 23-year-old nephew and young Ryan who works here pointed out a resemblance.’

Mr Hussey, 50, has drawn up a poster showing Peter Griffin in front of the Palace of Westminster, with his name beneath, and he is now waiting to hear if his party bosses will allow it.

‘Really it's a bit of fun, and anything that could get young people interested in politics is good,’ he added.
