The mark of Kane

Exhausted Russell gashes his head open

Russell Kane has been forced to cancel a show tonight after injuring himself when he passed out from exhaustion.

The comic was overcome with dizziness when eating a Chinese takeaway last night, smashing his head into the plate.

‘The plate broke and gashed my head so deep it cut off some of my hair,’ he said. ‘I spent a blood-soaked night in casualty.’

Kane, who has previously hosted Big Brother's Big Mouth, is taking two shows to Edinburgh: the stand-up hour Human Dressage and his spoof Fakespeare show, The Tragickal Saveings Of King Nigel. He blamed the demands of rehearsing and previewing both shows on his faint spell.

He is recovering following the incident, and expects to be on stage again tomorrow night.
