Earl could be saved

Cable network in talks over axed comedy

My Name Is Earl could get a reprieve after being axed by the NBC network.

American cable channel TBS – which airs repeats of the comedy series – is in talks about commissioning another 13 new episode, according trade journal the Hollywood Reporter.

However, a sticking point is likely to be whether the expensive show, which ran for four years at NBC, can be made under the much tighter budgets of a cable broadcaster.

Source stressed that the discussions were still in very early stages.
