Cricket show for comic Zaltzman

5 Live to air Yes, It's The Ashes

Andy Zaltzman is to present a comic look at the unfolding Ashes for Radio 5 Live.

The stand-up will be hosting an hour-long show, Yes, It's The Ashes, for six Saturday mornings from July 4.

Zaltzman, a self-confessed ‘cricket nut’, said: ‘I can't think of a better time to be doing a series about the 2009 Ashes than in July and August 2009.

‘The show will be packed with jokes and cover every conceivable angle of England’s attempt to regain the urn which they so unluckily lost 5-0 in 2006-07. I guarantee there will never have been a 2009 Ashes show like it.’

The programme, produced by Avalon Television, will also feature guest cricket fans each week.
