Fred MacAulay is working on a new topical panel game for BBC Radio.

I Guess That's Why They Call It The News will involve two teams playing a series of games based on the week’s headlines.

News Quiz regular MacAulay will be trying out some ideas in a live show next month, before hosting a pilot episode, which will not be broadcast.

The BBC says: ‘This show asks the big questions, and the little questions. And provides thoroughly silly answers to both.’
