Tickets on sale tomorrow

Ricky Gervais is to perform during the Edinburgh Fringe again this year.

The Office star upset many festival performers two years ago when he played for 8,000 people at the castle – prompting complaints that he was draining audiences from smaller shows and defying the spirit of the Fringe.

This year he will per performing his new live show, Science, at the 3,000-capacity Edinburgh Playhouse.

His publicist said: ‘This time he won’t be quite so worried about the weather, although the backdrop won’t be quite as impressive.

The show will take place at 7.30pm on August 25, and tickets – priced £15 to £30 – will go on sale from tomorrow.
