Comic to play 'pint-sized foreigner'

Sacha Baron Cohen is being lined up to play a miniature person in a new Hollywood movie.

He is set to star in Downsizing alongside Paul Giamatti, who plays a man who decides to undergo surgery to shrink himself, after being convinced the operation will improve his life.

The 6ft 3in Baron Cohen has agreed to play a ‘pint-sized foreigner’, while Reese Witherspoon is also expected to co-star.

However, no firm deals are in place, trade magazine Variety reports, nor will any negotiations will take place until the script is finished.

The satire will be directed and co-written by Alexander Payne, who previously made Sideways and Election.

Baron Cohen’s own film, Bruno, is out this summer.
