Still Game star Ford Kiernan has landed a new six-part comedy series with the BBC.
The comic, who shot to fame in Chewin' The Fat, will star as a useless caravan park boss in the six-part series Happy Hollidays.
It will also star Karen Dunbar, Still Game barman Gavin Mitchell and Kathleen McDermott from E4’s Dead Set, who filmed a pilot last year.
Ford, 46, said he based his character, Colin Holliday, on his old boss at the university, where he used to work as a barman.
He told the Glasgow Evening Times: ‘Colin is larger than life and is all bluff and bluster - a likeable idiot.
'He is miserable and tries to cut costs all the time. He is a bit inept, but I have always liked those kind of characters.
'The character is played for laughs, so I hope my old boss will be able to have a laugh when it comes out.'Filming starts in an Ayr caravan park in March.
It is Kiernan 's first sitcom since splitting from Still Game writing partner Greg Hemphill last year.
