It's the Kay-ser Chiefs

Kay performs at another music gig

Peter Kay has unexpectedly taken to the stage during another music gig.

This time it was fans of the Kaiser Chiefs who received an unscheduled stand-up set from the Bolton comic.

He came on ahead of the band’s gig at the Manchester Arena on Monday night, just to say hello to the packed crowd.

And when Andrew White’s guitar started playing up, Kay took to the stage for a longer comedy routine lasting a few minutes.

One fan described it as ‘an unrepeatable four-letter tirade aimed at a mouthy punter at the front… It was class’.

Kay also performed a version of The Winners’ Song, the single from his spoof Britain’s Got The Pop Factor show, which he recorded with Take That’s Gary Barlow and released on Monday.

Kay has a habit of stealing the limelight during other shows. He has previously performed unannounced with Queen, and interrupted plays at Manchester’s Opera House starring Brendon O’Carroll, once to wish him happy birthday and once by jumping out of a wardrobe in a posing pouch as a practical joke.
