Ted Fest's a sell-out

Huge demand for Father Ted celebration

Tickets for this year's Father Ted celebration Ted Fest have sold out within 30 minutes.

The festival, which ran for a weekend last year, has been expanded to a full week, split between the island of Inis Mor and Kilfenora village in Co Clare, which were both used as locations on the series.

Events being lined up include the First All-Ireland Blondes-Only Snakes and Ladders Championship, Dunk the Monk in the World’s Biggest Cup of Tea, and the Lovely Girls Competition.

The celebration, which starts on February 25, also includes a ball in memory of star Dermot Morgan, who died ten years ago at the age of just 45, the day after filming ended on Father Ted.

Co-writers Graham Linehan and Arthur Mathews will be attending, hosting an evening’s entertainment.
