The 26-year-old actress is believed to be close to signing a deal to take the role of Samantha, a witch married to a suburban advertising executive.
Frances De La Tour is thought to be in line to play her mother, the monstrous Endora. However, casting details have not yet officially been announced.
Filming is due to start on the revamped show, which has been adapted by My Hero creator Paul Mendelson, in the New Year.
The original ABC series ran for eight series from 1964 to 1972 and starred Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha. It has also been remade in Argentina, Japan and India.
