ITV plans sitcom about footy fans

Getting their kicks
ITV is planning a new comedy based around a group of Man City fans.

A pilot of episode of Till I Die has already been shot in Manchester, starring Phoenix Nights actor Steve Edge and former Coronation star Sally Lindsay as married fans.

It was written by Aschlin Ditta, whose credits include The Catherine Tate Show, and made by Hat Trick, the company behind Have I Got News For You,

Lindsay, who played Rovers Return barmaid Shelley Unwin, told the Manchester Evening News: ‘The scripts are just fantastic. It’s the funniest show I’ve done since The Royle Family.

‘The story is based around aoad of City fans who have moved to London but get the train up to Manchester to watch the Blues – and it’s all about their relationships’
