Movie version finally gets green light

The much-talked-about movie version of Sex And The City is finally getting under way, with filming due to start in the States this autumn.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon are all set to reprise their roles after protracted negotiations for their reunion.

And Hollywood Studio New Line is close to a deal to finance and distribute the film, trade newspaper Variety reports.

It will be written and directed by Michael Patrick King, a long-time executive producer on the TV comedy, which ran from 1998 to 2004.

Negotiations on the movie stalled two years ago when Cattrall, pictured, reportedly walked away after producers refused her demands for more money and a say in the script – but, Variety says, she’s now struck a deal she’s happy with.
