Record-breaking Tate

Comic Relief DVD a bestseller

The DVD of Catherine Tate’s Comic Relief sketches has broken sales records at online store Amazon.

The company says the £5 charity disc, which features Tony Blair and Noel Edmonds among others, has recorded the most advance orders in its history.

Although no precise figures have been released, the company claimed ‘thousands’ of people have reserved it ahead of the April 16 release date.

‘We saw a surge of demand for the DVD on Friday night while the sketches were being shown on BBC One,’ said Amazon's Rakhi Parekh.

‘If sales continue at this rate, this may well be our biggest-selling DVD of all time.’

At least £3 of every disc sold will go to Comic Relief. Click here to preorder.
