Bigmouth strikes again

Now Brand's in trouble with Rod Stewart

Russell Brand has become embroiled in a public row with Rod Stewart after boasting he had slept with the rocker's daughter.

At the GQ Man Of The Year awards last night, where he was named most stylish man, the comic said: ‘Here's to Rod Stewart who had a go at me earlier this year for too much womanising.  But then again I did have a go on his daughter.’

Brand was linked to 27-year-old Kimberly Stewart earlier this summer after he took her  back to his north London home after a night at London's Cuckoo Club.

But when Stewart took to the stage to collect an outstanding achievement award, he hit back at Brand: ‘You went with my daughter, did you? Russell, stand up.’

The Big Brother’s Big Mouth host did so and said: ‘I took her out for one evening.’

Stewart asked: ‘Did you behave yourself ?’

Brand said: ‘I never touched that girl.’

Stewart retorted: ‘F***ing right you didn't. You musn't come up here and boast. I speak here as a father.’

According to London’s Evening Standard Brand tried to make amends with Stewart after the ceremony. But the rocker told the paper: ‘He might be a bit of a player but he shouldn't boast. I never did.’

At the event, Brand also made light of the police investigation into the alleged rape of a 20-year-old girl during a party at the flat he rented during the Edinburgh Fringe.

He joked: ‘I never did a sex attack.  At the time the alleged sex attack was occurring I was having consensual sex with witnesses. Lovely night it turned out to be.’

There is no suggestion Brand was involved in the attack, which he has  denied any knowledge of.

In a statement yesterday he called for an end to the ‘deeply offensive, untrue and unfair press speculation’ into the inquiry.
