C4's 'Worst' show

New panel game unveiled

Channel 4 has unveiled a new comedy panel game, with Johnny Vaughan and Peep Show star David Mitchell as team captains.

Best Of The Worst will be hosted by Alexander Armstrong, pictured, and will involve the teams discussing the worst things in various categories, be they tattoos, lookalikes or religious sightings.

Six half-hour shows will air from September, the channel announced as part of its summer line-up today.

Another new comedy is Modern Toss, a sketch show  which mixes cartoons and live action.

It is based on the foul-mouthed comic and website of the same name, and was previously piloted as part of the 2005 Comedy Lab season.

The series’ performers include Mackenzie Crook, Dennis Pennis  creator Paul Kaye and Simon Greenall, who played Geordie Michael in I’m Alan Partridge.

Channel 4 will also be showing Bo’ in the USA this August, in which Bo’ Selecta’s Avid Merrion sets up a hotel in Hollywood, frequented by his rubber-headed characters.
