Scales and Sachs tackle Waugh

Fawlty Towers stars Prunella Scales and Andrew Sachs are to be reunited for a new TV comedy.

They will appear together in a BBC4 adaptation of Evelyn Waugh’s black comedy Mr Loveday's Little Outing in May.

The story is set in a lunatic asylum where Sachs, 73, plays an inmate. Scales, 73, plays the wife of a Lord who has gone insane.

Sachs said: ‘It is fantastic to be working with Prunella again. We hope to honour Evelyn Waugh's memory.’

Since last working together in Fawlty Towers in 1979, Sachs and Scales have also appeared together in the 1988 film Consuming Passions, written by Michael Palin and Terry Jones.
