Jennifer starts filming new sitcom

Jennifer Saunders has begun filming a new comedy show alongside  her Absolutely Fabulous co-star Joanna Lumley.

Jam And Jerusalem is a satire Saunders has written about the Women’s Institute, and features several cameos from her other Ab Fab co-stars.

Lumley told the Independent’s diary column: ‘There's going to be stars too numerous to mention in it, so actually I only have a tiny little role as an old woman in the village where it all takes place.

‘It's a straight-up comedy - irreverent and very funny indeed, so of course I'm looking forward to it.’

However the WI – who recently forced Little Britain to remove references to its organisation from sketches about the homophobic racist Right-wing women who vomit at the mere mention of a black person- are less than happy about the news.

An unnamed source told the paper: ‘We're trying to portray ourselves as a modern organisation, and we haven't even been consulted about this project.’

Filming on the new show has started today.
