'Lost' episode heads for DVD
A so-called ‘lost’ episode of Red Dwarf is to be released on a new DVD – and clips have already gone online.
The episode, Identity Within, was originally to be filmed in 1996 for series seven; one of several episodes commissioned from writers new to the show.
However, after the script was completed, and after several rewrites, producers decided it would be too expensive to shoot, and it was dropped.
Now Chris Barrie, who played Rimmer, has recorded the full 45-minute script, providing the voices of the other characters too.
His soundtrack has been illustrated with comic-book-style stills, and will be included on the series seven DVD due for release on November 7.
