Jim's benefit for slain PC

Davidson gig to raise cash for widow

Jim Davidson is to hold a benefit gig for the widow of murdered police officer PC Ian Broadhurst.

Proceeds from his one-man stand-up show at Southampton's Mayflower Theatre on January 26 will go to Elisa Broadhurst.

Her husband was shot dead in his patrol car in Leeds on Boxing Day.

Davidson said: "I was as shocked as the rest of the country when I heard about the shooting.

"It seems such a pointless death and my heart goes out to his widow. She has lost a husband and we have lost a good copper.

"The last thing she needs to be worrying about right now is how to pay the mortgage and the bills. Hopefully, the money we raise will be able to buy her a big bunch of flowers and a whole lot more."
