Bob Hope has been buried in a quiet family funeral in Los Angeles.

Around 100 close relatives attended the dawn mass at San Fernando Mission cemetery, followed by a private wake at the Hope family home.

The location of the funeral had been kept a tightly-guarded secret until after the event.

A pubic memorial service to the London-born comic, who died of pneumonia on Sunday night aged 100, will be held in Los Angeles on August 27.
