C4 orders spoof science series

Channel 4 is to air a late-night science spoof described as "Chris Morris running the Open University".

The creators of Banzai have been commissioned to produce a six-part series of the show Experimental, which also aims to parody programmes like Test The Nation.

The show - which follows BBC2's similarly themed Look Around You - will have no presenters or hosts, but the producers are still on the look-out for performers.

They have put an open call out to people with an 'untapped mine of comedy genius' to take the part of the deadpan, earnest scientists on the show.

"We don't want 20-year-olds with spiky hair who are determined to get onto MTV," said a spokesman.

If you think you fit the bill, send a tenminute video of yourself "doing something funny" to Experimental, Radar TV, 91-93 Great Eastern Street, London, EC2A 3HZ

And they say it doesn't matter if the tape is "homemade and a bit rubbish".
