Another new act contest launched

Another new act competition for stand-up comics is seeking entrants.

The Lewisham Comedy Festival, which is part of the London Comedy Festival, has launched its talent hunt Gagging For It.

The final, in May, will be hosted by Trevor and Simon, (pictured), of Saturday morning TV fame.

The winner receives £150, a trophy and entry into the final of The Allstars competition - the London festival's separate new act hunt.

Heats start on Sunday March 24 and run on six consecutive weeks.

Acts who want to take part should e-mail matthew.couper@lewisham.gov.uk
or an application form.

Other attractions in the Lewisham festival include a black comedy night and a poetry event featuring John Hegley and John Cooper Clarke.
