Frank Skinner gets a bigger buzz from drink than he does from sex.

And even though he hasn't touched alcohol for 15 years, after a longstanding drink problem, he still craves the booze.

He said: "I've never been happier than I was as a drunk."

"Sex with someone you love isn't as good because deep, deep down inside I'm worrying about whether she's seeing anyone else, if I'm doing it right, if she's enjoying it."

And, in an interview with She magazine to coincide with his new autobiography, he admits to having slept with a string of groupies

He says: "I've had a lot of one-night stands. I think that having sex with me is about going to the top of the Empire State Building - you do it not for the view, but to say you've been there.

But Skinner, 44, has had longer relationships, too. "I've been out with some fantastic women, but we don't work because the chemistry's not right," he said.

He also spoke about his other love, football, and admits he hated its acceptance as a middle-class passion - even though his show Fantasy Football League contributed to that transformation.

"When middle class people and women started going to matches, I thought 'it's a shame that hooliganism has stopped because that used to keep them out'," he said.
