Watched Simon perform last night at the Comedy Store at the Pyramid Parr Hall, I thought he was a really funny bloke who made me cry with laughter, so glad he turned up, had a fantastic time!

Bligh is an original - the only Scouser I know who is genuinely unfunny. Back in the day I was at Manchester Uni with him and saw his first forays - I am talking 1982 - at the time he was in thrall to the manic Alexei Sayle. I am surprised he can pay the rent serving up the same shit for over twenty five years.

Have seen him twice now at Cleethorpes Comedy Store, once as an act and the other as a compere. Not only were his sets completely the same but it seems like he has been doing the same routine for the past sevem years if the previous comments are anything to go by! Get a new routine or get off the stage.

Saw Simon Bligh last night in Leicester. The crowd were loud, boorish and drunk which is just as well because Simon had very little material, most felt as though it had been round the circuit for many many years and he seemed to think that swearing and shouting was funny. Crude, loud and puerile "comedy" for people who consider Johnny Vegas highbrow. If you like comedy more than down jugs of sangria then avoid.

Very funny and a brilliant performer. He is very much a 'working class' comedian, in that his material is all about 'real life' rather than auratic cultural memes, but unlike most such traditional comedians he is fun to experience. Would not go down well with students or other young, middle class types but it's horses for courses and Simon is great at what he does.
