His career began while at university at King's College, London, where he studied French and German, appearing in radio satire shows including Weekending on the cabaret circuit in London and Edinburgh. His TV show drags on for too long, and should be cut down to no more than 40 minutes, with more of the two Johns and less of him. The first couple of shows in each new series are usually OK (more news to catch up on) but after that it can really be a struggle. Graham Auty, October 2005 |

ery few entertainers have been able to reach the artistic and political heights that Bremner Bird and Fortune have reached. The dumbing down across all the tv stations is an insult to the average persons intelligence. It is the highlight of the week to watch Bremner Bird and Fortune reflect on the madness of our politicians and the insanity of the world they endeaver to control Linda Carruthers, September 2005 |
|
Some people say 'He's not as good as he once was', lets face it, the man is clever, funny and his impressions are fantastic. Not as good as he once was? You try and do better then! Martin, April 2005 |

I used to enjoy his bits on David Frost's TV programme when he reviewed the year through the voices and mannerisms of politicians, celebs, royals et al, but his latest offerings with the 2 Johns has mostly passed its laugh by date - although I did chortle last night at his delicious Michael Howard bits; that was new to me and so accurate. However, mostly I find his bitter-sour satirical stuff is unfunny and offers no alternative to whatever policy he is criticizing. Anyone can find fault but some constructive alternative should be offered, even in a so-called comedy programme. Wilf McDuff, March 2005 |

Bremner Bird and Fortune are, to me, the most honest of the news shows. Despite the well deserved label, comedy/entertainment, they show more clearly the state of the world than mainstream news programmes. Channel 4 consistently shows exceptional judgement in its programming and this show is testament to their wisdom and individuality. Exceptional, intelligent, witty viewing. Tina, March 2005 |

Undoubtedly the best impressionist out there - so slick to move between his voices. Can't wait to see him again Peter Gregson, February 2005 |
|
When will we see less of the boring political issues and a return to the 'variety' of the 90's This man has talent, lets see it return. Peter, December 2003 |
|
His one-sided and childishly personal attacks on the Prime Minister have become boring. A much wider analysis of the political scene - of which Blair is just one manifestation - is required. It would also be a more honest performance if he were to let the audience know what his personal politics are - is he a Conservative voter, for instance? We need to know just as much about him as the figure he is parodying if we are to form a judgement as to his motives. Dennis Mahoney, December 2003 |
Where can I see Rory Bremner next?
