Francesca Martinez Francesca Martinez

I saw her on Frank Skinner and fell in love with her. She was funny, intelligent and I hung on her every word. I want to see more of her.

John Boy, October 2003

As a sufferer of the CP myself, I admire the fact that she so comfortable with her condition she can be so naturally funny.

Alana Coster, October 2003

I absolutely love Francesca. She makes things so much more interesting, rather just taking the micky out of herself. When she recalls her stories, her gestures and overall the way she talks, is so inspiring. Most of the time she made me laugh - not giggle, but laugh out loud.

Peter Florczyk, October 2003

I saw Martinez on The Frank Skinner Show and although it is easy to feel uncomfortable to laugh at such humour, Martinez as a sufferer of the condition makes it easy and and puts such a wonderful perspective on it all as a way of life just like any other way of life by any other comedian. She is hilariously witty and very clever and I can see her later developing her material into other areas and still being a hilariously entertaining personality. She is great. I believe she will go really far, she is naturally funny.

Amanda, October 2003

I have seen much of her work and believe Martinez to be genuinely funny, especially to a fellow CP 'sufferer'. I think to dismiss her act as "positive discrimination" is, quite frankly, narrow-minded horsepoo.

Matt G, October 2003

Francesca is without question funny. Her humour is as much jibes against people's perceptions of her and her disability as cerebral palsy itself. She is a happy, free spirit who won't be held down or held back. She makes her disability into an ability and speaks from the heart about what she knows Bloody marvellous

Paul Nelson, October 2003

Saw her last week in Bracknell. Yes, some of the stuff about her illness was contrived and not that funny and the haircutting routine was odd, if bizarrely entertaining. However, many of her observations and jokes were excellent and were greeted by genuine laughter. Definitely a thumbs up.

Ian, June 2003
