Absolutely fantastic. The best I've seen in a long time
Andrew Smith, June 2006
Tonight I saw francesca on the Frank Skinner Show and I thought she was fantastic, and the way she introduced non-CP sufferers into her world. She didn't make fun of her illness, she showed the audience that she can talk about her condition and accept it and laugh about her experiences. After all if a fat person can go on stage and laugh and joke about their size then what's wrong with Francesca having a laugh about her condition? I'm sure she has made a big difference to a lot of people with CP and other disabilities and showed them that they can do anything they put there minds to.

I just saw Francesca on the Frank Skinner Show, I laughed for the first time in ages after suffering from depression for years. Thank you Francesca, I love your attitude to life,

If its the first time you have seen her then you may think that the first fiveminutes is funny listening to her talk about her condition and give the odd one liner about it in order to be accepted by the audience. In reality it was a nervous audience giving nervous laughter in order to be polite in order not to offend someone with disabilities. It is a good thing that someone can laugh in the face of their problems and joke about it, but the jokes can only go on for so long.

Just seen a repeat of Frank Skinner's 2003 show showcasing Francesca Martinez, and was touched by the beautifully comic way she sends herself up. If more people had her resilience and unerring ability to spot the humour in awkward situations, life would be better all round. Recomend heartily a viewing if it is shown again, one of the comedy moments that will (or should) be remembered for all time!

I too first encountered Francesca on the Frank Skinner Show and thought she was absolutely hilarious. That's why I was stunned when I went to one of her shows to find that she wasn't actually very good (De Hems pub, 29th October). The CP stuff was almost non-existent. What's left is a quite funny piece about what it would be like to have kids, but the rest is crushingly obvious. There were no stories at all about real-life incidents, which were her major strength on the FS Show, and so much of her set now consists of some quite poor random jokes. I can't even believe she was lazy enough to write about nudity appearing on TV when your parents are with you, and the joke about using Rohypnol on an unsuspecting guy wasn't shocking as she'd like to think, it just didn't make sense. I'd go see her again in a few months to see what's changed. I hope it's a lot, because she was easily the weakest act that night.

I had never heard of Francesca until I saw her on the Frank Skinner Show, and I can't wait to see her again. A first I thought "here we go, another one after the sympathy vote" but I found her to be one of the funniest people I have seen on TV for ages.
