Usually I agree with your critiques, but I think Emmy Gay comes off rather badly in your review. What about her charm and likeability, connection with the audience? Whilst slick style may not be very English, it does rather beat our sad, formulaic "What else shall I tell you..." pretending to be off the cuff whilst actually not being properly rehearsed. I think she's al;right! Maybe you saw her on a bad night.
