Have just watched "The Plank" "It's Your Move" and "Mr H is Late" for the umpteenth time and still fall about laughing. Eric Sykes has got to be the most under rated comic genius in the history of English comedy. Thanks a million for so much pleasure.

A brilliant comic and writer, with a genius that is hard to find these days, must have been the rain and smog in Oldham that gave him his sense of humour.

I totally agree that Eric Sykes is a brilliant comedian, and a decent man into the bargain. No 'blue; humour, or obscenity, just clever humour. I am just reading If I Don't Write It Nobody Else Will, his autobiography. Thank you Eric.

Eric it's about time you were shouted about you are brilliant. No one has the talent any more - or if they do theyre not lovely with it

Gentle and warm, Eric Sykes has always been himself and orginal. Never failed to make me feel better about myself.

It was almost an insult in my opinion to 'only' award Eric an CBE. He should have been knighted many years ago. To see some of our present 'knights' makes me cringe in response to the amount of pleasure Eric has brought us, despite his severe handicaps. To me he will always be the greatest of English comedians ever to have walked the plank :-)

I have just finished reading If I Don't Write It......It's brilliant I havn't enjoyed a book as much for years. I have admired "Eric" for many years (I'm 75 now) and count him as a friend although I have never been lucky enough to meet the great man. I thank him for the many years of delight he has given us all.
