I'd like to wish Dan all the best and hope he ignores Chortle's callous critics. Comedy is an incredibly difficult art to master and it's inevitable that new-ish acts aren't going to be at the very top of their game while still comparably inexperienced. Yet these reviews on Chortle seem to get stuck with performers and stigmatise them. It sounds to me like Dan is working hard to make a name for himself in this incredibly difficult business. This deserves encouragement rather than scepticism from Chorlte. Best of luck to him - he deserves it.
