Put Brass in pocket
The epic series, starring Timothy West, parodies both gritty Northern drama and Brideshead Revisited-style period drama over 32 episodes.
In the elaborately-plotted comedy, the scheming of ruthless mine, mill and factory-owner Bradley Hardacre is hampered by his gin-sodden wife Patience and the rest of his dysfunctional Lancashire family, a story contrasted with the abject poverty of the Fairchild family.
The three-series set has been released by Network at £39.99 – and has a running time of about 800 minutes.
