GLASGOW: Eleanor Morton, a 21-year-old literature student and Scottish comedy circuit regular:

MANCHESTER: Red Redmond: A 22-year-old scriptwriting student at Salford University, and regular on the Manchester comedy circuit

WARWICK: Sarah Keyworth:A second year drama student at Leicester's De Montford University, who had done just 15 gigs before entering this competition:

LEEDS: Third year Film and Television Production student Sebastian Bloomfield, from York St John, who was also a finalist in 2012.

OXFORD: Matt Lister, a Bristol University philosophy student who has previously performed with student sketch troupe the Bristol Revunions:

NEWCASTLE: Leeds University cultural studies student Jacob Rawcliffe

DUBLIN: Journalism masters student Conor Neville

CAMBRIDGE: University of East Anglia politics student David Seymour

They all now goes on to a semi-final in either London on Manchester, and a shot at the final at the Edinburgh Fringe, where the top prize is £2,000.
