The British Empire, but it's a school reunion in Cork

Irish comedian Tagh Hickey has served up a pointed satire to a certain British attitude to its colonial past.

The comic has imagined nations of the Empire as if adults attending a school reunion, ruined by their old school bully, full of an annoying laddish swagger and yearning for ‘the good old days’.

The personification of Britain is clearly going through a midlife crisis following its recent ‘divorce’ keen to relive its past, even though everyone else has moved on…
