A possible TV pilot...

Phil Burgers's short film The Passage has just had its premier at the Sundance Film Festival.

The 22-minute movie follows Phil, wide-eyed and mute, on the run after escaping captivity.

A trailer for the film sees him alone in a small plane after the pilot bails out, adrift in a boat with a woman in traditional African dress and being thrashed with a stick in traditional baths.

In a four-star review of the film – designed as a pilot for a half-hour US TV series –  the Nerdist website said it 'walks a tightrope between poetic moments and profound stupidity'.

Burgers is known on the international comedy festival circuit for his clown alter-ego Dr Brown.
