Lloydy The Illegal Street Trader – Original Review

Note: This review is from 2003

Review by Steve Bennett

This loud, brash and one-dimensional character shouldn't really work, but he does.

Well, I say character, but Lloydy himself is a street trader - and the years of experience on the markets have certainly taught him the patter and the swagger that would do Del Boy proud.

Conjuring up a catalogue of increasingly unlikely objects from his street-corner suitcase, Lloydy demands attention as he confidently powers through his silly material, meaningless catchphrases and ridiculous banter.

It's hard to see how this will develop from being anything more than the five to ten-minute novelty act it is at present, but it is a fun, if limited, routine.
