Alan Davies: When I went on holiday... for eight hours

Comic was so annoyed with rain he flew straight back home

comedyIs this the shortest holiday in history?

Alan Davies has revealed that he flew to the Canary Islands for an impulsive break –  and was so disappointed at seeing rain that he flew straight back home again.

'It was a last-minute thing, let's get some winter sun,' the QI regular told Alan Carr on his Life’s A Beach podcast.

'We got there and it was absolutely pissing down. It looked like it'd been raining for about three years.

‘I said, "This isn't any good." And we went back to the airport. I just went, no, I'm not having this.’

He said that after arriving back in the UK he checked into the Radisson at Manchester airport saying: ‘We had a lovely 24 hours [there]. It's a very nice airport. ‘

‘That was the shortest and the worst holiday of my life – eight hours in the Canary Islands.’
