...and he'll be a better stand-up than me

Ricky Gervais has joked that he could one day be replaced by a robot who’s better at stand-up than he is.

Looking into the future, he said: 'Will there be a robot that's bigger and taller and stronger than me? One that's made of steel that can see in the dark - and is a better stand-up?’

But he reckoned he could have one trick up his sleeve a robot couldn’t master: slapstick.

‘I'll go out, I'll fall over and the crowd will go wild,’ he said. ‘They'll go, "Look at him, look at that fat bloke, he's dying!"'

Speaking to Sam Harris on his  Making Sense podcast, the After Life creator also said: ‘We’re all narcissists and it’s been enabled with social media, everyone’s famous.’
