Simon Day's appeal after burglars grab his beloved pet

comedySimon Day has released CCTV footage of a hooded man he believes broke into his home and stole his family dog.

The Fast Show star’s beloved Coco – an eight-month-old pug-Jack Russell cross – went missing from his home in Willesden Green, North London, in the early hours of last Wednesday after burglars broke in.

The thieves also ransacked his drawers and stole his wife’s handbags and the keys to their two cars, a Renault Captur and the other a Toyota Rav 4, which were also taken.

However, the 57-year-old said: ‘But all I'm worried about is my dog, Coco. She is very friendly and doesn't bark. They must have picked her up and walked out with her because she would've just gone with them.

'We're not worried about anything other than Coco and would appeal to whoever has her to let her go. What kind of person steals a family dog?'

He says he’s had little joy with police, sympathising that they ‘don't really have the manpower’ so released the footage from his neighbourhood to MailOnline.

Day and his wife Ruth believe Coco may be in Brixton, South London, as that was where one of the stolen bank cards was used.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting reference CAD 1061/27nov.
