Rahul Kohli's vehicle flipped over four times

comedyComic Rahul Kohli has said he's lucky to be alive after a terrifying car accident last week.

The Geordie stand-up flipped his car over four times on the M90 between Edinburgh and Perth – but managed to escape with just cuts, bruises, and some mild neck and back strain.

He believes he hit a puddle when driving around 55mph, and skidded up the bank beside he motorway, which was not protected by a barrier.

The comedian says he remembers flipping over once, but 'the roof of my car then cracked into my skull, so I didn't remember rolling the three consecutive times witnesses described'.

Describing the incident in an article for Chortle, Kohli said the next thing he remembered was 'being on the side of a road, out of my car, rain pelting down on me, and there was a woman holding up my neck saying "I'm a nurse, I know you're delirious right now, but you have to listen to me. It's vitally important you hold up your neck to avoid any long-term spinal injuries".

'The ambulance came, put me in a neck brace, put me in a stretcher, then Dundee A&E. The policeman who reported the incident said I was incredibly lucky to walk away alive.'

Here is the remains of his car:

He said the accident gave him a new perspective on the Edinburgh Fringe, saying: 'Every one of my shows could have zero attendance, all my reviews could be one-star, and everyone I try to flyer could spit in my face, but I don't care: I'm still here!'

And the punchline to all this? One of his Edinburgh shows is subtitled Death Around the Corner.
