Bishop plays Elvis... but all eyes are on his 'Little John'
John Bishop has previously compared his life to Elvis Presley's in his stand-up and now cinemagoers will be able to see him play The King himself.
The Scouse comic joined Vic Reeves, Diane Morgan and Kevin Eldon in Leeds to shoot scenes as an Elvis impersonator in the upcoming film Funny Cow, which stars Maxine Peake as a comedian on the Northern Working Men's Club circuit in the 1970s.
The film's Facebook page posted this image of Bishop in wig and Reeves in a safari suit with Peake and singer Richard Hawley, about to shoot some club cabaret scenes:
Bishop also posted this picture on his Instagram account:
Several commenters remarked on Bishop's physical similarity to Presley – but most focused on the tightness of his trousers:
'Ermm snug !!' said carolsandrajackson, while mcrmotherofboys 'Cannot. Look. Away. #ahhhh'.
Daz2267 wondered if 'Someone dresses to the left?', while notoiletsfor25miles suggested 'Little John is making an appearance. Maybe should've "bashed the bishop" before the photo shoot!!'
